Heyo PlayStation fans! Here’s what’s new from our friends at Sony!
This week sees the release of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, the latest licensed game from the hit Emmy Award winning TV show of the same title. Developed by Terminal Reality, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first person shooter game featuring the show’s bad ass mofo, Daryl Dixon. You will be able to meet the other characters from the TV series and shoot the crap out of the walkers… walking after you. Merle, the annoying older brother, is also in the game but I am not quite sure if he’s a playable 2P or just an AI aiding you in the game. Who knows with all the embargo going on? The game is available on the PlayStation 3.
For fans of hypersexualized cartoon toddlers (as our editor in chief lovingly calls them), Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory hits the store shelves this week as well. This is the third installation to the Neptunia series and we see again lead chick Neptune lead the adventures. She meets lolis new and old as she is transported back to the retro version of Gamindustri. Battle system has been tweaked and improved, fights are faster, and characters moe-r. Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory is available for the PlayStation 3.
On the PlayStation Network, we see the début of Dead or Alive 5 Plus, a cross-playable game for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita (see impressions and more deets right here). Voluptuous maidens of the DOA universe gather again to battle in a simplified experience – either swipe, tap or pinch to execute super moves to finish off your opponents. If you are undecided, you can download a demo first on the PlayStation Network.
Carnage Heat EXA is now available on the PSN store and is fully compatible with your PSP and PS Vita. You can get to test drive hulking chunks of metal called Overkill Engines (ahem) and upgrade them with mods to make them truly terrifying on the battlefield.
For the casuals, Dollar Dash is also available for the PlayStation 3. Do a mad dash and outrun fellow thieves with the dosh by safely depositing them in your getaway vehicle. Attack using kuh-ray-zee weapons and shenanigans to keep them off your cash. You can try a few levels by downloading a free demo over at the PlayStation Network.
A new PS One Classic title is added to the growing roster. Hogs of War is a turn-based game that pits six different nations of Saustralasia for control of the main resources. You play as one of the nations and are tasked to complete 25 challenging levels or be turned to bacon.
That completes the new games roster for the week. We highly recommend DOA5 Plus for fighting game fans or even to those who are new to the game. This is a pretty solid port for the PS Vita and the visuals are stunning. Also: Boobs.
